The LCModel License

• The following Canadian dollar prices for an LCModel license are guaranteed until 30 June 2010; all the other prices are guaranteed until 31 March 2010.
• Licenses for additional computers in the same group (i.e., same laboratory & principal investigator) may be purchased at a 50% discount.
• Orders from Canada must add GST or HST.
• Quotations in many other convertible currencies are available on request.

1. If you wish, we will send you a written quotation (also in currencies other than those above).
2. You install and test the LCModel package and send the information specified below.
3. If you wish, you can send a purchase order or a PO number.
4. We send an invoice.
5. We e-mail the license to you within one business day of receipt of payment.

Email the following information:

1. On the computer that you will use with LCModel:
   • Do the installation and test run.
   • Email the "Licensing Information" (which uniquely identifies your computer). With Linux, this is the encrypted file $HOME/.lcmodel/data-for-licensing (containing no personal information). Otherwise, this is the number in the table "DATA FOR LICENSING" in the test-run output.


2. Your field strength(s): General Electric, Bruker and Picker (now Philips) have contributed model metabolite spectra for standard sequences in LCModel format for free use with their scanners. We also have model spectra (provided by R Schulte, J Weis, N Hattori, RM Wellard, ER Danielsen, T Michaelis & PJW Pouwels) freely available for LCModel analyses at all LCModel sites. We will make the relevant sets of model spectra available to you.
   (The LCModel package also contains tools to allow you to prepare your own model spectra.)

1. An unlimited number of user installations and an unlimited number of users simultaneously running LCModel/LCMgui on the licensed computer are allowed by one license.
2. Unlimited updates (including major new LCModel/LCMgui versions) may be freely downloaded from the website at any time. (Notices of major updates are emailed to users.) The license remains valid for these updates without time limit, except for (4) below.

4. One free replacement:
   • The license is restricted to one particular computer. If this computer (i.e., motherboard or CPU) is ever replaced, then you email the "Licensing Information" for the replacement computer (which must also be in your group), and a new license will be emailed to you at no charge. You then permanently remove LCModel from the computer being replaced.
   • If this replacement computer is ever replaced, then you would have to purchase an additional license (at the usual 50% discount for an additional license for the same group). Thus, a license includes one free replacement, not two. This is the only time limit (and only compensation) for (1)-(3) above.

The LCModel/LCMgui Package is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including (but not limited to) the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Package is with you. Should the Package prove defective, you (and not Stephen Provencher Incorporated or its dealers) assume the entire cost of all necessary repair or correction.

In no event will Stephen Provencher Incorporated or its dealers be liable to you for any damages, including lost profits, lost savings, or other incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of or the inability to use the Package (whether or not due to any defects therein) even if Stephen Provencher Incorporated or its dealers have been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party.
